Gold Ribbon Campaign
The Gold Ribbon campaign is a year long fundraising campaign to support Special Olympics. Since its foundation, SIA has volunteered and fundraised for Special Olympics and adopted it as one of our official philanthropies.
The campaign’s goal is to support Special Olympics by raising awareness about how sports training and competition, improves the lives of people with intellectual disabilities. During the 2007-2008 academic year, hermanas nationwide will volunteer their time and raise funds for this cause.
Launched on Sept 29, 2007 during SIA's 17th Anniversary Founders' Banquet, the Gold Ribbon campaign is Phase II of a three part fundraising campaign. SIA began the Ribbon Campaigns during the 2005-2006 academic year in order to devote our national fundraising efforts to our philanthropies. These campaigns will run through the year 2009 and will benefit several national organizations. During Phase I, hermanas nationwide raised awareness and funds for AIDS and AIDS research during the Red Ribbon Campaign. This campaign was a huge success and we were able to raise almost $16,000 for this cause!
