Ivone De Jesus, Hermana Exaltada, became a member of SIA in the Summer of 2002 at the Iota Chapter. She has been actively involved since her crossing on a regional and national level serving as advisor, founder of the Gamma Beta Graduate/Alumnae Chapter, Officer of Community Service Affairs, Vice President of Community Affairs and Vice President of Undergraduate Affairs. Ms. De Jesus was recognized on a national level and received the Pegasus award in 2004 for outstanding contributions. She also works with the Solidaridad Inspiración Amistad Community Foundation in furthering its mission.

Ms. De Jesus attended Northeastern Illinois University where she received a B.A. in Criminal Justice, with a minor in Psychology. She received a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Ms. De Jesus works in higher education administration where she serves on various committees including, the Chancellor’s Committee on the Status of Latinos and the Chancellor’s Committee on the Status of Women. She chairs the Chicago Latino Film Festival at her university and volunteers her time with several scholarship associations that distribute awards to outstanding Latino students.
