SIA Member Featured as New Intern on Grey's Anatomy
On September 27, 2007 the new season of “Grey’s Anatomy” began featuring a new set of interns among them, SIA’s very own Gloria Garayua, Hermana Energica.
Gloria is an alumna of SIA’s Xi chapter at C.W. Post Long Island University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting. She double majored in production and design with a concentration in voice and dance. Since her graduation, Gloria has perfected her acting abilities and had roles in theatre, television and film. She has appeared in films like the 2005 hit comedy, “Fun With Dick and Jane” as well as “Cold Case”, “Strong Medicine”, “NYPD Blue” and “Six Feet Under.” Most recently, Gloria has appeared on the popular television show, “Grey's Anatomy” in a recurring role as Intern Graciela working alongside Resident Izzie Stevens (played by Katherine Heigl).
While Gloria is an amazing actress she also has other talents; she is an intermediate classical pianist. Gloria also serves as a role model to the Latino community and was honored as such during the 2005 Bronx Puerto Rican Day Parade where she served as Grand Marshall.
