NATIONAL EXECUTIVE BOARD OF LATINA SORORITY
HERMANDAD DE SIGMA IOTA ALPHA INC. COMMENCES 2006-2007 TERM

May 1, 2006 New York, New York
- The newly elected National Board of Hermandad de Sigma Iota Alpha, Inc. commences it's term today to run through April 30, 2007. The board consists of:
President: Ivone De Jesus, Treasurer: Jennifer Y. Saavedra-Martinez, Vice President of Marketing: Suheil Pimentel, Vice President of Alumnae Affairs: Connie Morales, Vice President of Undergraduate Affairs: Rosa A. Ramos and Vice President of Correspondence: Desiree L. Sanchez.

Ms. Pimentel and Ms. Morales remain in the positions they were elected to last year, while Ms. De Jesus vacated her position as dual Vice President of Undergraduate and Community Affairs. "We are very excited for the opportunity to serve our hermanas in this capacity," says Ms. De Jesus of her board, "we hope to make many contributions during this term within the organization and beyond."

Ms. Ramos and Ms. Saavedra-Martinez will be joining the board to complete the two year terms of those positions vacated, but are not strangers to the national platform. Ms. Ramos served two previous terms on the board, as National Secretary and National Vice President, from 2001-2005. Ms. Saavedra-Martinez served previously on the Alumnae Board of Directors. This will be Sanchez's first time serving in a national position for the organization.

The National President and National Treasurer positions were vacated by Jessica A. Mayorga de Rivera and Michelle Sazo who were only going to complete one year of the two year term positions before moving on to concentrate on SIA's newly created Solidaridad Inspiración Amistad Community Foundation, Inc. Ms. De Rivera serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Ms. Sazo serves as the Chief Financial Officer of the Foundation.

Hermandad de Sigma Iota Alpha, Inc.
