MEDIA RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIP AWARDED TO YADIRA GARCIA"

Yadira
Garcia, a student at New York University has been
selected as one of two scholarship recipients to take
part in a new certificate program offered through
Nielsen Media Research. Jessica Mayorga, Interim Chief
Executor of the Solidaridad Inspiración Amistad
Community Foundation released a statement today congratulating
Garcia on this honor. In the form of a broadcast,
to the over 500 women who form Hermandad de Sigma
Iota Alpha, Inc.- Garcia's sorority, she stated "On
behalf of the National Association of Latino Fraternal
Organizations and the Solidaridad Inspiración
Amistad Community Foundation, I am pleased to announce
that Yadira Garcia (H. Trinitaria) has been selected
as a recipient of a Nielsen Media Research scholarship
to cover full tuition for the Nielsen Certificate
in TV Audience Measurement Program at NYU this summer."
Nielsen Media Research extended this opportunity to
promising students of color through NALFO and asked
the SIA Foundation directly to carry out the distribution
of the scholarship. We are very pleased that one of
our own has earned this opportunity.
The
scholarship, in the amount of $2,500, covers full
tuition and fees for this new certificate program.
Nielsen Media Research and New York Universitys
School of Continuing and Professional Studies joined
forces to offer this unique training in TV audience
measurement. Nielsen Media Research made two scholarships
awards available to outstanding students of color
who believe they have what it takes to launch a successful
career in media research or other related field.
