"QUEST FOR A MILLION PENNIES" - St. Jude Children's Reseach Hospital.

Hermandad de Sigma Iota Alpha, Inc., Omega Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.,Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority, Inc. and the National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations (NALFO) are proud to announce the launch of the 2nd Annual "Quest for a Million Pennies", whose proceeds benefit the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the official philanthropy of NALFO.

This three-month drive will be conducted by the undergraduate and graduate members of the participating organizations at various cities across the Nation. "Our goal is to raise the bar this year and surpass the $10,000 mark; which we believe is not an impossible task. We are happy to work collectively on such an important, shared philanthropy", agreed the three event coordinators: Leslie Baez - Director of Community Service for Omega Phi Beta, Ivone De Jesus - Officer of Community Service Affairs for Sigma Iota Alpha, and Jasmin Sanchez - Undergraduate Representative from Sigma Lambda Gamma.

Zenelky Ortiz, Bi-lingual Event Marketing Representative for St Jude Research Hospital expressed, "It is really encouraging to know that the kids of St. Jude have the support and commitment of NALFO organizations. I know that their stewardship will motivate and inspire other organizations to follow in their footsteps. This new partnership is bursting with promise for bigger and better things to come."

Hermandad de Sigma Iota Alpha, Inc. (SIA) was founded on September 29, 1990 by a diverse group of women with the goal of creating an organization that would help their communities, unite women, and uphold a set of distinct goals. SIA is more than a sorority; we are a family and network of professional, strong and dedicated women leaders. We are also a 501(c)7 tax-exempt organization and we work in conjunction with the Solidaridad Inspiracion Amistad Community Foundation, Inc.- a 501(c)3 Community Foundation committed to scholarship, service and professional development within Latino communities nationally.

Omega Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated is a national, fully accredited Greek-lettered organization founded in 1989 at the University at Albany, State University of New York by seventeen women of diverse cultural backgrounds. While continuously working towards the mission of cultural awareness and community service, the organization also focuses on addressing the needs of the undergraduate and local communities where chapters are located.

The roots of Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority, Inc. were commenced by collegiate women who recognized the need to form an organization that provided empowerment to women of all cultural backgrounds. Founded at the University of Iowa on April 9, 1990, our members recognize the need for toghetherness and support among women of varying cultures at the university level and they remain dedicated to the overall success of women in a global environment.
